4 Steps to Easy Travel Logging - Rocketbook Australia

If you’ve ever had to plan a vacation, you know it’s seldom an easy process. Handling the logistics, budgeting, and tons of activities for a getaway can get overwhelming, not to mention the insane amounts of packing and unpacking involved.

Do not fret! A little motivation, a pen, and a Rocketbook can get you very far. Here’s our step-by-step guide for using your Rocketbook to plan your dream vacation—without the stress. At the end of your trip, you’ll have nothing but good memories and fun moments to relive in your Rocketbook!

STEP 1: BRAINSTORMING

Travel Brainstorm

Before you dive into the small details, making a list of all the important tasks that need to be completed can help clear your mind. Here are a few questions to jot down:

  • Who do you need to talk to?
  • What research do you have to do?
  • What do you need to buy?
  • What websites could be useful?

Whip up a quick brainstorming web, or whatever works best for you! This planning process is messy, so that your vacation isn’t. Having a rough list of tasks, even if they won’t be completed until later (or at all), is key to a successful trip.

STEP 2: MONEY MATTERS

Now it’s time to break down the costs: how much money are you able - and willing to - spend? This part may be a little daunting, but having a clear idea of all your expenses is crucial for a smooth ride down the road. Poor financial planning for a trip could lead to overspending, or worse: running out of money mid-adventure.

Aside from the costs of your flight and lodging, you might find it helpful to break down your expenses day by day. If you are planning a week-long trip, have a budget for each of the seven days you’ll be traveling. You can break down your daily expenses into two parts: food and activities. That way, you know exactly how much you’ll need for food and any excursions or tours you decide to do.

STEP 3: LAY IT ALL OUT

Travel Itinerary

With a game plan underway, we’re ready to lay it all out! From the brainstorm you have a good idea of what you’d like to do, and from smart budgeting you have an idea of how much you can spend. Write out all your itinerary details: flight numbers, dates, hotel information, fun activities, you name it. Be as detailed as possible, as this information will come in handy when you depart for your trip. Don’t forget to have fun decorating and doodling as well! You have absolute creative freedom.

STEP 4: UNWIND & REFLECT

Now the fun part: record your memories! At the end of your trip (or at the end of each day, if you prefer) write about your adventures. What did you most enjoy? What did you experience? What did you learn? Your Rocketbook is the perfect travel log for you. Whether you write in it everyday or every few days, it will make your travel memories last forever.
